I guess the hospital staff got tired of me – they kicked my kid out.

We're all home now and doing fine.
We still have to go to the hospital for the follow up tests and head down to Sick Kids in about a month for the CF sweat test – all in due time.

For now – we are all home and doing fantastic.

Just to let people know… Nathan is still doing great at Ajax Pickering Hospital.

He hasn't been released yet – I guess that they just want to be absolutely certain he will do fine.

Both Michelle and I were really hoping that he would be home today, but we can appreciate their caution.

He is eating fine on his own – has no tubes or wires monitoring him. They just wanted another day to watch over him.

I don't want to get my hopes up…..

He may come home tomorrow.

The immediate danger has passed so the colorectal surgeon has signed the order to have Nathan removed from NICU. Since everyone is absolutely AMAZING at sick kids – they opted to have him transferred out and moved closer to home. This was all their doing – we didn't even have to ask!

As far as the tests have gone – nothing has been ruled out yet. May still be CF and may still need surgery.
Just a waiting game as far as those are concerned.

For more good news: he is eating on his own and passing stool on his own. This means that as long as this keeps up they will kick him out altogether.

Any further tests and/or surgeries will be performed on an out-patient basis. He already has an appointment for the Cystic Fibrosis testing later next month at Sick Kids.

Okay – here it is – as much as I know…

Last night – around 11pm Nathan was rushed to Sick Kids for a abdominal distension – meaning fat belly.
He wasn't pooping – so all the farts were backing up. They have really fancy names for these things – but I am trying to spare the jargon.

The causes for this can be numerous – the most panicking (and least likely) is cystic fibrosis.
The most likely – Hirschsprung's Disease –

He is stable – after releaving the pressure the immediate danger has passed. Now comes all the tests and waiting.

Probable outcome right now: surgery.

I will try to update as I know.
